Johnson hires Brody Blalock as Head Cross Country Coach
Johnson University has officially announced the hiring of Brody Blalock as the new Head Cross Country Coach for the Royals, starting April 22, 2025. Blalock, hailing from Calhoun, GA, brings a rich background in collegiate sports and a deep passion for coaching to Johnson University's cross country team.
Previously serving as an assistant coach at Reinhardt University and Johnson University for the softball teams, Blalock has garnered notable achievements including two conference championships as a softball coach. His running career at Reinhardt includes setting school records in the Decathlon and 4x800 meter relay.
"I believe Coach Blalock is a great leader to get our program back up and running" stated Athletic Director Brandon Perry. "He has a passion for coaching and his style fits what we are looking for. I believe that he will not only find success as a coach but will also invest in who our runners are personally and spiritually."
Brody Blalock himself is thrilled about his new role. "I am extremely excited to be chosen for this position at Johnson University. I absolutely love what Johnson is building as far as an athletic program, and I cannot wait to continue to build off the Christ-centered values they have in place," Blalock shared enthusiastically.
