No. 7 seeded Union falls to No. 2 Johnson in AAC Tournament

Kingsport, Tenn. – The No. 7 seeded Union Commonwealth University softball team fell short against No. 2 Johnson in the AAC Tournament on Tuesday.

Union tallied no runs through the first three innings, but the Bulldogs held Johnson to just two runs during that time. In the top of the fourth with two outs, Union's Sarah Lowe recorded a solo home run to trim the deficit.

Johnson would score three runs in the bottom of the fourth en route to a 9-1 win in five innings. Carly Cain pitched the majority of the game for the Bulldogs, while Kerry Dixon also pitched for Union.

The Bulldogs are now 15-25 on the season, while Johnson is 24-13. Up next for No. 7 Union is a matchup on Wednesday against either No. 3 Tennessee Wesleyan or No. 6 Columbia.
