KNOXVILLE, Tn- The Royals played host to Trinity International University on 2/11-2/12 where they swept the Trojans in a 4 game series.
While the series ended in a sweep, it was not an easy one. Coach Bruce dubbed his team "the cardiac kids" due to the fact they had multiple walkoff victories, including one inning to rally back from down 6 runs.
Will Varner led off every game of the series, and produced 7 hits including a walkoff single in a signature moment for the Royals. Brayden Taylor also had 9 hits.
Pitching shined for the Royals as both Blake Courson had 7 strikeouts on the series and Brayden Taylor had 5 as the Royals added 4 tallies in the win column.
The Royals play again on 2/15 when they host Pikeville.
