Royals Swept by Cardinals

KNOXVILLE, Tn- The Royals hosted Concordia on 2/10 and 2/11, where they lost to the Cardinals 7-2, 11-2, and 12-5 as they were swept in the series.

Austin Sykes led the effort on the mound with 5 strikeouts. Braden Ott added 3, and Ethan Ridderstap added 2. 9 Other Royals registered a strikeout as Austin Sykes, Jacob Smith, and Austin Mitchell were all dealt losses on the series.

Seth Pressley had 3 hits to lead the offense. Devan Hinton had 3 RBIs to lead the run support, as Will Varner and Bryson Shown each had a pair of RBIs. Will Varner also notched his first home run of the season in the final game of the series.

Will Varner had the lone steal on the basepaths for the Royals. 

The Royals will look to turn things around in their next game on 2/14 when they travel to take on Pikeville.
