KNOXVILLE, Tn- The Royals hosted AAC opponent St. Andrews on 1/7, where they defeated the Knights 111-82.
The Royals had a balanced offense that led to the win, as 4 Royals scored double digit totals. Miles Long had 29 points to lead the offense. Nick Clifton had 19 points, while Parker Haun had 13 and Alex Forde had 12.
Nick Clifton led the effort on the glass, pulling down 14 boards in a double-double effort, as the Royals won the battle on the glass 57-35.
A late layup from Miles Long was the final basket he scored in a 29 point effort, the exact total he needed to eclipse the 1,000 point mark for his career. It has been an incredible career for Long, and one that he will no doubt look to add to as the season progresses.
The Royals will look to carry this momentum into their next matchup on 1/11, when they travel to take on another AAC opponent in Union.
