Royals Get First AAC Win in Program History Over St. Andrews

KNOXVILLE, Tn- After falling just short in another comeback effort in the first game of their double header against St. Andrews (12-10), the Royals took control of the second match in the third inning and held on to the lead to win 5-3.

Katelyn Norris led the Royals offense with 5 hits, including a triple, and 4 stolen bases on the day. Casiee Jordan added 2 hits, including a 3-run home run and also added a stolen base. Josie Huff also added 3 hits and 3 RBIs.

On the mound, Hunter Troutt pitched a full 7 innings in the win, tallying 2 strikeouts. Graysen Lowery also pitched 6 innings, adding 3 strikeouts, while Scarlett Johnson made a one inning appearance.

It was a huge day for the softball program, as they look to take their new found momentum and use it on the road, as they travel to take on Kentucky Christian in another AAC showdown on 4/2.
