Dayna Carter

Dayna Carter joined Johnson University as both the Assistant Athletic Director and Head Softball Coach in July 2021.

She is from the area and therefore has a familiarity with the school and culture of the university. She has watched it grow and transition over the years and is excited to not only be a part of Johnson's continuing growth, but also to share her experience of the culture of Johnson with her son, Ty, who is joining alongside her as a member of the baseball team.

She spent the 19 years prior to joining the Johnson Athletic Department as a high school softball coach in the area. Additionally, she has experience both coaching, and playing in the SEC, as she was an Oklahoma Sooner from 1991-1993, and an assistant coach for the Tennessee Volunteers from 1995-2001.

These experiences have led her to not only have a vast knowledge of the sport of softball, but also to make connections and effectively communicate to students, players, parents, and fans.
