Katelyn Lee, from Ooltewah High School, signs with the Royals

The Johnson University Women’s Tennis Team signed Katelyn Lee from Ooltewah High School to join them during the 2020-2021 season.

Lee, the top player from Ooltewah High School, made the decision to attend Johnson after watching the Royals play this fall and making multiple campus visits. Her time on campus gave her what she needed to make her decision. “I decided to go to Johnson because of the family feel the school shows,” Katelyn said, “Johnson just makes me feel like I’m at home where I will always be loved and accepted. I also like the small student-teacher ratio because it will allow me to develop relationships with professors as well as other students on campus.”

Lee will surely fit in on court as well. At the signing, Coach Hale said, “You very rarely get players who fit in with the team and culture as well as Katelyn fits in with our group. She is a very good player that will come in and contribute right away and all of my interactions with her point to her being incredibly coachable. I am really excited that she will be joining us and suiting up for the Royals!” The excitement of having Katelyn join the team is certainly mutual, as Katelyn shared the observation, “the team supports each other both on and off the court. I am excited to create new friendships that will last a lifetime!”

Lee will finish her senior season at Ooltewah this spring and join the Royals for preseason fall practice in August of 2020.
