Royals Get Big Win Over Union as They Push for Postseason Berth

KNOXVILLE, Tn- The Royals played host to AAC opponent Union on 11/1, where they bested the Bulldogs in 5 sets.

The Royals came out strong, taking the first two sets, but had to fight as the Bulldogs came roaring back to push the game to a fifth set. The Royals eventually won the fifth set, in a match that could have serious postseason implications.

Sydney Smith led the Royals with 23 kills, while Maddy Taylor had 17. 

Sydney Smith also led the Royals with 24 digs while 4 other Royals had double-digit digs as well. Marissa McMahon had 23, Hannah Lukey had 17, Emma Renner Holt had 11, and Gentry McReynolds had 10.

The Royals will look to carry this momentum into their final regular season match, as they travel to take on AAC opponent St. Andrews on 11/5.
