Smith Named 1st Team All-AAC; Davis named Champions of Character Team Member; 12 Royals make All-Academic Team

KNOXVILLE, Tn- The Appalachian Athletic Conference Awards have been announced for women's volleyball, and Sydney Smith has been named to the First-Team All-AAC. Smith has had a fantastic debut season for the Royals, as she finished the year with triple-digit totals in digs, kills, and sets. She finished the season with 448 kills at a rate of 4.04 per set, which was good for 3rd and 2nd in the AAC respectively. She also had 384 digs, which put her in the top 15 in conference, and finished with 111 sets. It was a fantastic individual year for Sydney Smith that she will look to build upon in the coming seasons.

In addition to Smith being named to the All-AAC First Team, Jensen Davis was named to the Champions of Character Team.

Each team may select 1 representative who best embodies the values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership.

This year senior Jensen Davis has demonstrated these characteristics, on and off the field, and has been recognized for doing so.

Finally, an impressive, 12 Royals were named to the All-Academic Team.
