Union MBB falls at Johnson

Knoxville, Tenn. – The Union Commonwealth University men's basketball team played at Johnson on Saturday. The Bulldogs fell 105-75 despite trailing by just six points at halftime.

UCU's Jeremiah Stroman led all scorers with 20 points. Stroman was 9-of-9 at the free-throw line. Dallas Rufus tallied 11 points, while Ben Underwood was also in double figures with 10 points. Rufus accounted for a team-leading two steals.

Allister Dixon registered eight points and a team-leading five rebounds, while Brian Gilmore Jr. scored six points. Jabari Covington and Kenny Garth each tallied five points.

Sam Conley registered four points. Kenton Wright, Drew Rhodes, and Micah Engle each recorded two points. Union tallied 30 bench points, 28 points in the paint, and 15 second chance points.

The Bulldogs are now 3-2 (2-1 AAC) this season, while Johnson is 6-1 (3-0 AAC). Up next for UCU is a home conference game against Pikeville on Tuesday, Nov. 26, at 7:30 p.m.
