The Johnson University men's tennis team has added Kaden Buchanan to their incoming recruiting class for the fall season. When asked why he chose Johnson, Kaden's response was simple, "I am looking forward to meeting new people and to grow my relationship with God."

Buchanan, a senior from Robinson, Illinois comes in with an impressive 44-19 high school singles record, mostly at the number one position and a doubles record of 15-13. In addition to his records, Buchanan was twice named Little Illini All-Conference, was the conference double's champion in 2017, the conference singles champion in 2019, and qualified for the single?s state tournament in 2018 and 2019. Kaden has also seen both of his siblings compete on the collegiate level with his older brother Brenan Buchanan competing at Vincennes University and Madi Buchanan playing at Johnson University.

Buchanan's experience and resume should fit in nicely and make an immediate impact on a team that returns its entire roster. Coach Hale weighed in on Kaden's impact saying, "Kaden is an aggressive player that likes to go on offense but is athletic enough to defend as well. He has also been around tennis his whole life playing with his family, so hopefully the transition to the college game should be a smooth one for him. I am really looking forward to coaching him and to see what he can do in a Royals uniform."
