Chuck Jones, a long time member of the community, began broadcasting Seymour High School football on the radio in 1994. Over the course of 15 years, he covered 150 games. In 2010, he began as a color analyst for Friday Night Gridiron on Charter TV. He was also the interim play-by-play voice of East Tennessee State University Football in 2002. Jones made the transition to Johnson University Basketball in 2019. He, along with color commentator, Mike King cover the home basketball games.
Royals Athletics are broadcast as a joint effort with the Johnson University Athletic Department and Johnson University Media Services. Broadcasts are archived via livestream under the direction of the Media Services Department.
