Royals Take Down #6 Cumberlands in Statement Road Win
WILLIAMSBURG, KY– The Royals continued their hot streak with a 9-4 road victory over #6 Cumberlands (KY) on Wednesday evening. After a shaky start, the Royals locked in and used dominant pitching and timely hitting to secure the upset win.
Head coach Dave Serrano reflected on the team's performance. "Another good team win for us on the road at Cumberlands over a very good program. I had huge concerns going into the game since we are getting all these accolades now and wondered how we would respond. It was a little sloppy early, but our guys showed their maturity and turned it around after the third inning. The offense drove in some big runs to expand our lead, and I felt Elijah Dew and Kaleb Townsend giving us five shutout innings to end the game was huge."
