Johnson Royals Triumph in Midweek Win Over Georgetown
Georgetown, KY- The Royals secured a commanding 14-7 victory over Georgetown, improving their overall record to 30-11. The Royals were led by a strong offensive display and solid pitching efforts across the board.
Luke Wilson had an outstanding performance, going 3-for-5 with 2 RBIs, including a double. Nolan Cusey contributed with 1 hit and 2 RBIs while also walking once. Bryson Shown added power to the lineup with a 1-for-3 outing that included a home run and 2 RBIs. Edwin Olmeda Jr. also showed his strength, going 2-for-2 with a home run and 1 RBI.
The Royals jumped out to an early lead, scoring 3 runs in the first inning and continuing to build on their advantage with another 3-run frame in the second. Although Georgetown fought back, scoring 2 runs in the third and 2 in the seventh, Johnson's depth and resilience were on full display, with a balanced attack and stellar pitching to hold off the hosts.
The Royals' pitching staff was a key factor in the win, with Nathan Hoffman earning the victory. Other notable contributors on the mound included Ryan Rhea and Elijah Dew, who each pitched a scoreless inning, and Braden Ott, who closed out the game despite allowing 2 runs in his 1 inning of work.
