Royals Make History with Record-Breaking 2025 Season
The Royals baseball team turned in one of the most impressive seasons in program history in 2025, setting a new standard of excellence through team achievements that showcased their consistency, resilience, and dominance.
The Royals finished the regular season with 33 wins, including an outstanding 21-9 record in Appalachian Athletic Conference play, securing a third-place finish in the standings and earning the #3 seed heading into the AAC Tournament. Johnson's success was fueled by an incredible level of consistency, as they won 10 out of 11 conference series, including four series sweeps throughout the season.
Against top-tier competition, the Royals proved they belonged among the nation's best, posting a 7-3 record against Top 25 opponents. 2025 was also the first season in which the Royals reached the top 25 nationally. Their strong resume helped them climb to a #11 national ranking, marking the highest ranking in program history.
Offensively, the Royals were a force all year long, finishing with a .315 team batting average and scoring 350 total runs. On the bases, Johnson's aggressive style paid off, stealing a program-record 147 bases over the course of the season.
On the defensive side, the Royals were equally sharp, finishing with a strong .963 team fielding percentage and recording four shutout victories. Whether at home or on the road, the Royals brought energy and execution, winning 17 games at home and 14 on the road.
The 2025 season will be remembered not just for the wins and rankings, but for the statement this team made about the future of Johnson University baseball — a future built on hard work, belief, and an unbreakable team culture.
