Mason Lockhart Named NAIA Offensive Player of the Week
KNOXVILLE, TN– Johnson University's Mason Lockhart has been named the NAIA Offensive Player of the Week after a pair of dominant performances that led the Royals to key victories over Cumberlands (KY) and Montreat (NC).
Lockhart showcased his scoring ability and efficiency across both games. In Johnson's thrilling 85-84 upset over No. 17 Cumberlands on February 10, the junior forward erupted for 40 points, shooting an outstanding 16-of-25 from the field while adding seven rebounds. He followed up that performance with another stellar outing on February 12, scoring 27 points and grabbing nine rebounds in a triple-overtime 123-117 victory over Montreat.
Over the two-game stretch, Lockhart averaged 33.5 points and 8.0 rebounds while shooting 58.5% from the field. His clutch play was instrumental in securing both wins, solidifying his place as one of the top offensive forces in the country.
With this honor, Lockhart continues to build on an impressive season, helping lead the Royals in their push for the postseason.
