KNOXVILLE, TN– The Lady Royals' undefeated conference streak came to an end on Wednesday as they split a doubleheader against Milligan University. The Royals dominated Game 1 with an 8-0 victory but suffered their first AAC loss of the season in a tight 6-5 contest in Game 2.
Head coach Dayna Carter was pleased with her team's effort but acknowledged the tough loss. "We played really well in Game 1, executing in all phases. Lindy Webber threw a fantastic game, and our offense strung together timely hits. In Game 2, we had our opportunities but couldn't quite close it out. Losing is never easy, especially when it's our first conference loss, but I'm proud of how we battled. We'll use this as motivation to continue improving and staying strong down the stretch."
