Bluefield, VA- The Lady Royals continued their impressive season with a doubleheader sweep over Bluefield University, taking game one 8-6 and game two 12-1.
Game 1: Lady Royals Edge Past Bluefield
In a back-and-forth battle, the Lady Royals held off a late Bluefield rally to secure an 8-6 victory. Johnson's offense erupted for four runs in both the third and fourth innings, highlighted by a home run from Reese Burns and a pair of doubles from Megan Armstrong and Madisyn Thacker-Wolfe.
Armstrong led the charge with a 3-for-4 performance, driving in two runs. Thacker-Wolfe and Burns also contributed key RBIs. On the mound, Lindy Webber delivered a strong five-inning start, allowing just one hit and striking out eight. Emily Wyatt and Samantha O'Neal closed out the game, holding off Bluefield's late surge.
Game 2: Offensive Explosion Leads to Run-Rule Victory
The Lady Royals' bats stayed hot in game two, as they cruised to a dominant 12-1 win in five innings. Audrey Moorhouse and Megan Armstrong led the offensive charge, combining for seven hits and seven RBIs. Armstrong's three-run home run in the fifth inning put an exclamation point on the victory.
Thacker-Wolfe added three hits and an RBI, while Autumn Caywood and Sadie Brantley each drove in runs. The Lady Royals collected 16 hits in the contest, showcasing their depth and offensive versatility.
On the mound, Madisun Pritchard earned the win, surrendering just one run on six hits across four innings. Alyssa Nicely provided a scoreless fifth inning to close out the game.

Following the sweep, head coach Dayna Carter praised her team's resilience and balanced effort:
"I'm proud of the girls. It's been a long week with a lot of games and traveling. They came and took care of business with a lot of different players getting the chance to contribute."
With the sweep, Johnson improves to 17-5 on the season and 12-1 in conference play. The Lady Royals will look to keep the momentum rolling as they return home for their next series.
