KNOXVILLE, TN- The Johnson University Royals put up a strong fight in their AAC matchup against a strong Tennessee Wesleyan team but ultimately fell 6-0.
Johnson's defense, led by goalkeeper Kaitlyn Pope, worked tirelessly as Pope made an impressive 10 saves against 22 shots from Tennessee Wesleyan. Despite the pressure, the Royals remained resilient, with standout efforts from players like Brenna Benke and Lexi Hatch, who both registered shots on goal.
The Royals (1-2 AAC) will regroup and look forward to the opportunity to bounce back in their upcoming match against Pikeville on September 14.
