Knoxville, TN – The Johnson Royals secured a decisive 3-0 victory over the Milligan Buffs on Saturday morning, improving their record to 14-3 overall and 5-2 in conference play. Milligan drops to 9-6 and 4-2, respectively.
The Royals set the tone early, winning the first set 25-17, and maintained their momentum throughout. Abigail Brown led with 13 kills, while Kiersten Bell added 12 as Johnson's balanced attack and strong defense proved too much for the Buffs.
Milligan struggled offensively, hitting just .097 as a team. Shelby Miller was their standout with 10 kills, but the Buffs couldn't overcome Johnson's nine service aces and 16 total blocks. The Royals won the second set 25-19 and clinched the third 26-24, sealing the sweep.
Johnson now looks ahead to a matchup against Kentucky Christian.
