KNOXVILLE, Tn- The Royals hosted AAC opponent, Kentucky Christian on 2/18 and 2/19, where they took the series 2 games to 1. The Knights took the first game 8-6, before the Royals took the final 2 games, winning 4-3, and 8-6.
Brayden Taylor led the effort on the mound with 4 strikeouts, as he would pick up both wins for the Royals. Braden Ott added, Nahzir Bergen, and Austin Sykes all 3 strikeouts as well.
4 Royals had 3 hits to lead the offense, as Will Varner, Bryson Shown, Brayden Taylor, and Seth Pressley paced the offense. Tyler Phillips had 3 RBIs to lead the run support, as Will Varner, Brayden Taylor, and Bryson Shown each had a pair of RBIs. Bryon Shown also socked a home run to walk-off the second game in extra innings.
Will Varner had 3 steals to lead the way on the basepaths for the Royals. Luke Vest swiped a pair of bases as well.
The Royals will look to keep things rolling on 2/21, when they travel to take on UT Southern on 2/21.
