The opening game set the stage for the intense Appalachian Athletic Conference series between Montreat and Johnson. Nathan Hoffman took the mound for Johnson, delivering a stellar pitching performance that kept Montreat's potent offense at bay. However, Montreat's Mitch Ball provided the game's defining moment with a clutch home run. Daniel Willie's pitching performance sealed the deal, as Montreat secured a narrow 3-2 victory, setting a tone of competitiveness for the series. Petey Kiefer, Isaac Lawson, and Blaise Blancher each had multiple hits for the Johnson offense.

Montreat showcased their offensive prowess in the second game, overwhelming Johnson with an impressive 14-0 victory. Tommy Ramos led the charge with a home run, supported by a relentless hitting display from the entire Montreat lineup. Elian Cuevas delivered a solid pitching performance, shutting down Johnson's offense. Nolan Cusey and Brayden Taylor provided the lone hits for Johnson.

Facing the threat of a series sweep, Johnson came out determined in the final game. Despite Montreat's Mitch Ball and Jaider Morelos continuing to perform well, Johnson rallied behind standout performances from players like Blaise Blancher and Garrett Borst, with Blancher driving in 3 runs and Borst going 5 innings on the mound, holding the Cavaliers to no runs. In a tightly contested match, Johnson secured a hard-fought 6-1 victory to avoid the sweep.

The Royals will look to get back on track this weekend, as they take on Truett-McConnell in an AAC conference matchup Friday at home.
