KNOXVILLE, Tn- Last night the Royals were able to secure their first victory over an AAC opponent in dramatic fashion.
It took all 90 minutes of regulation, 2 overtime periods, a clean sheet from keeper, Guillerme Catena, 21 shots and finally, a golden goal by freshman Esloni Hakizimana for the Royals to secure a hard earned 1-0 victory.
Guillerme Catena added 5 saves in route to the win. This victory officially puts Johnson Men's soccer in the win column for the first time in AAC Conference play.
They will look to take this momentum into their next match, as they play another AAC opponent in Columbia College 10/2 at 7:00 p.m.
