PIKEVILLE, KY – The Johnson University Royals earned a solid 3-1 victory over the University of Pikeville in an AAC conference matchup.
Robert Platt opened the scoring for Johnson early in the 12th minute, but Pikeville's Olivier Wentink equalized before halftime. The Royals took control in the second half as Gianadres Franceschi netted two goals, both assisted by Platt, securing the win.
Johnson outshot Pikeville 9-5, with goalkeeper Bruno Bobato making one save.
The Royals improve to 3-1-1 on the season and set their sights on the Union Bulldogs.
