Lady Royals Split Doubleheader with Georgetown
KNOXVILLE, TN– The Lady Royals battled through a midweek non-conference doubleheader against Georgetown, dropping Game 1 3-1 before bouncing back with a 6-2 victory in Game 2.
Head coach Dayna Carter acknowledged the slow start but was pleased with her team's response. "I think after the Reinhardt games, they were such a big emotional win for us, and I think we just came out a little flat today. So it took a while to adjust to the pitching, and then, eventually, second game we came back around and took care of business."

A three-run third inning for Georgetown proved to be the difference, as the Lady Royals struggled to generate offense against a strong pitching performance by Emma Cummings.
