KNOXVILLE, TN- The Lady Royals earned an impressive conference doubleheader sweep over Kentucky Christian on Sunday, securing victories of 8-2 and 16-6 at home.
Game 1: Lady Royals 8, Kentucky Christian 2
Johnson set the tone early, scoring two runs in the first inning and never looking back. Megan Armstrong had a standout performance, driving in four runs, including a crucial three-run double in the fourth inning. Madisyn Thacker-Wolfe added three hits and an RBI, while Autumn Caywood contributed three hits of her own.
Lindy Webber was dominant in the circle, pitching a complete game, allowing only two earned runs on eight hits while striking out three.
Game 2: Lady Royals 16, Kentucky Christian 6
The Lady Royals' offense exploded in the second game, scoring nine runs in the fourth inning to pull away. The team racked up 18 hits, with every starter contributing to the offensive onslaught.
Madisyn Thacker-Wolfe led the way with three hits and three RBIs, while Sloane Baldridge and Audrey Moorhouse each drove in two runs. Kaylee Dyke, Ella Hampton, and Jana Peacock also made key contributions, driving in runs to extend the lead.
Alyssa Nicely earned the win with four innings of work, allowing three earned runs on five hits. Madisun Pritchard closed it out, securing the save with one inning of relief.
